Jessica and Brendon | Sylvan Glen, Penrose
Over the last few years, I feel like I have really gotten to know Jess and Brendon. I've shot them a few times now, met their family, and had the joy of photographing their gorgeous little girl for their engagement shoot with a twist! This wedding was a real set and forget affair... it was planned a full 2 years out, all the details discussed, and then one day, it just arrived! Jess was a calm organised bride, Brendon and cool and unflappable groom. The intention for the day was for it to be relaxed, happy, comfortable, joyful, and fun (and boy was it fun!!). I arrived early in the morning to the gorgeous Sylvan Glen. This property is wedding venue perfection. A huge homestead provides room for family and guests to stay and play, a golf course to entertain the boys (who's wedding day prep is to throw some jackets on before the big moment and pronounce themselves done), lots of private spaces to rehearse speeches, a custom built space for makeup and hair with PERFECT light, manicured gardens, twisting bush tracks, the most gorgeous ceremony location, and complete privacy.
The mood that morning was peaceful ... pretty girls in robes were strolling around, joking and laughing. Baby Isla was being nursed and fed by an eager rotation of family members, not a scream or cry to be heard. The occasional whoop-y was heard from a distant golf cart full of excited young men helping to celebrate an important life chapter for their mate. Ladies drifted easily in and out of the hair and makeup space, each more beautiful than the last, with a drink in hand and a huge smile.
After the ceremony, we took a drive and stroll around the property to enjoy some quiet time with Jess and Brendon before starting their big party.
I was so fortunate to be shooting alongside Kara from Way Up High Films, a talented local videographer and an absolute joy to hang out with for the day.
