Mathilde and Robbie | Bowral, NSW

I first met Mathilde many years before we moved down to the beautiful Southern Highlands. My sister needed a helping hand with her three beautiful little girls, and after the usual process of looking for someone you connect with, she asked Mathilde to help her out with the day to day running of a busy family. She was always an extremely calming influence in a very busy home. She would speak gently, in a gorgeous french accent, and she made a wonderful impression on all of us. Life carries on, the girls started in their various schools, and gorgeous Mathilde married a handsome local boy and set down roots in beautiful Burradoo. They live on the most gorgeous property, only a few minutes out of town. It is calm and serene, and feels like it's a million miles away.

We live in a small town, so I was thrilled when I heard they were expecting their first baby, and even more thrilled when she contacted me about documenting this beautiful moment in time before the arrival of their first child. It was my first visit to their home, and I felt instantly welcome and at ease. The weather has been messing with us recently, and this was our second attempt at a photography session. Both Mathilde and Robbie, a landscaper by trade, love the outdoors and their animals, so it was natural that we would photograph outside, in the landscape they love. The thing that struck me the most was just how excited this expectant dad was of the imminent arrival of their little baby. Robbie was just bursting with anticipation, and in glowing admiration of his gorgeous wife. He couldn't take his eyes off her! We went for a little wonder around the property, and thankfully the threatening clouds waited till we were finishing up to burst open.

There's something magical about every shoot, but today, it was all about love. The love between two people, their love of their environment, and such a strong love for a baby that is so eagerly awaited. Take a look at a few of the pics from todays session xx
