The Speakeasy Club | Bowral, NSW

Last night I was asked along to photograph the The Speakeasy Club, at the gorgeous Onesta Cucina in the heart of Bowral, to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I will happily admit I had NO idea what I was walking in to! I had been battling Pharyngitis all week and had lost track of all time and space. I knew I had a gig on Friday night, and left it at that. It was a mad end of week rush around, school pickup, an impromptu Friday afternoon cheese and wine date with my favourite school mums, and the usual rush around to coordinate work schedules with my forever traveling husband who was landing later than planned from his Brisbane trip. A few phone calls later, and the boys were being driven out to Sutton Forest to have dinner with my little sis and her fiance, and I was on my way home to get my head around the evenings shoot.

I could hear the music from the street as I walked towards the unassuming front door, and entered through some heavy black velour curtains in to a most amazing party. The theme was 'Prohibition Speakeasy' and boy did everything and everyone look amazing! The gorgeous and extremely talented Jess Hunter, a highly regarded local interior designer, was behind this gorgeous event. I kept hearing of last years amazing night, months after it was held, the party of all parties, and this years fundraiser was looking just as amazing. There were gambling chips and tables, bubbles, cocktails and platters of amazing food (which is a given at Onesta's!). Importantly, the room was heaving, I'm sure a sign of the amazing contribution it would make to the NBCF.
